I'm working on some new wearable art pieces that include hand dyed wools, rusty found objects and collaged words.
These may be inspired by my "new" collection of jars to store dry goods. Paid a quarter for most at a weekend antique sale at the Walker House. I want more! Love to see all the colours and textures when I look on the kitchen shelves-just as rich as my studio shelves.
We entered the Kincardine 2009 Fall Fair Dog Show, the theme was "recycling".
The night before was time to whip up a costume. Tried a number of different ideas and when I accordion folded a few salvaged coffee filters Bill suggested a "frilly lizard " costume and I was off. (I have hundreds of these cleaned and pressed in Ziploc bags that my Mom had preciously saved for me daily for a year). Using a piece of packing foam as the backing, I spray glued, layering the filters one by one.
Bob, the dog, was very patient thru all the fittings and had a great time at the show, arriving home with lots of prizes and treats.
